Maxicol Capsules & Powder
Bowel disorders in the 21st century are very common. IBS has become second only to back pain in terms of numbers of sufferers. Many bowel problems can be due partly or wholly to insufficient intake of dietary fibre.
Sufficient fibre encourages good bowel function, reduces constipation, improves liver detoxification and removes toxic waste (including hormones and cholesterol) from the body. It also helps to balance blood sugar levels, reduce hunger and relieve many digestive conditions.
MAXICOL contains psyllium seed husks, a gentle soluble fibre. Unlike wheat bran it does not irritate the bowel lining, even with prolonged use, neither is it habit forming. MAXICOL also provides greatly increased levels of 'friendly' bacteria and prebiotics - many more than widely advertised probiotic drinks and yoghurts. It also contains F.O.S. (fructo-oligo-saccharides) which feed the bacteria and keep the bowel contents soft. Sufferers from long term constipation should first increase their level of beneficial gut bacteria by using F.O.S. alone until improvements are noted.
Directions: Take 1 - 3 teaspoons daily in water, fruit juice or 'smoothie'. Start with a low dose and increase slowly. Reduce or stop if any symptoms occur or are aggravated. Always drink at least 1 extra glass of water immediately after taking MAXICOL. If you suffer from constipation you should drink 1 ½ - 2 litres per day.
MAXICOL capsules are an excellent alternative for travel, or for individuals who do not like to take the granules.
Packaging may vary.
Notes: - Any change in bowel habits should be discussed with your GP.
- Sufferers from long term constipation should first increase their level of beneficial gut bacteria by using F.O.S. alone until improvements are noted.
